I've built this 305 SBC Combo 3 different times over the years, and each one always produces at least 21-22 MPG! One was in a 1982 C-10 shorty pickup with with an Overdrive 4-Speed manual! The other was a 1976 Camaro Type LT, with a 3-Speed Manual, and it did a best of 25 MPG on the highway!! All these 305s were torquey buggers, built like this! The Camaro also ran a 14.50 at 94 mph with the same 3.36 gears! This is One Big Advantage that well Built 305s have over their 350 brothers!

1982-85 305 Chevy HO or Truck Block, code H, baked, blasted, bored .030, power honed, Cast crank, ground .020-.020, conn. rods reconditioned with SPI Bolts/nuts, UEM cast Flat Top pistons, with Hastings cast moly rings, Engine Pro Clevite 77 main and rod bearings, Melling M-55A oil pump, GM Truck roller chain timing set, Isky 256 Supercam, .425 lift, 206 deg. @ .050, 110 deg. lobe separation, Johnson Tappet Hyd. lifters. HEADS- #416 Castings, 305 HO, 1.84x 1.50 valves, Backcut 30 degs., Fresh valve job, new guides, pinned studs, new springs. Intake- Edelbrock Performer, Rebuilt GM HEI distributor.
